ERIE CANAL LOCK PLAQUE.
Adorned lock house on the Erie Canal.
Composition, 18 inches in diameter. Based on a
commemorative coin designed by Archibald
Robertson in 1925 for the canal opening. Depicts
Pan,next to a cornucopia,meeting with Neptune,
representing the joining of Atlantic Ocean with
interior of the Country. (Temporarily attached to a
wooden backing with removable clips and rope
for display purposes). Good condition, no chips
or cracks, some weathering as shown in closeup.
